At Velocity, we are seeking a Director of Inside Sales who will lead the development and execution of thoughtful, effective inside sales strategies to identify, qualify, and cultivate partnerships with CROs, pharmaceutical companies, and biotech organizations, working closely with field sales, site leadership, and cross‑functional teams to ensure a clear and consistent experience for potential partners.

Job Summary

 

The Director of Inside Sales is a strategic and results-driven leader responsible for generating and fostering lead generation that turns into new revenue. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of medicine, driving partnerships that accelerate clinical research and improve patient outcomes.

 

This role focuses on developing and executing inside sales strategies to identify, qualify, and convert opportunities into long-term partnerships with Clinical Research Organizations (CROs), pharmaceutical companies, and biotech organizations. The Director will collaborate closely with site management teams and cross-functional departments to ensure seamless execution and client satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive inside sales strategy aligned with company objectives.
  • Drive lead generation, qualification, and conversion through proactive outreach and relationship building.
  • Collaborate with field-based sales teams to ensure alignment and client success.
  • Monitor sales metrics, pipeline health, and performance; provide regular reporting to leadership.
  • Utilize CRM tools (Salesforce) to manage leads, track progress, and optimize workflows.
  • Identify market trends and opportunities to refine sales strategies and improve outcomes.

Qualifications

Required Skills & Abilities

 

  • Proven success in inside sales within the clinical research industry.
  • Strong understanding of CROs, sponsors, and the drug development process.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategic inside sales plans.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Salesforce CRM.
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding sales quotas.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, or related discipline (or equivalent experience) preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3+ years of inside sales experience.
